Explore this beautiful natural lake located in Ba Be National Park, where the dramatic landscape is complimented by the small ethnic minority villages dotted along the shore. This beautiful national park in the northern province of Bac Kan features a sprawling lake which has the distinction of being Vietnam’s largest freshwater lake. You will also visit the largest waterfall in Vietnam, and 4th largest frontier-waterfall in the world, Ban Gioc Waterfall. These stunning falls consist of an impressive 300-meter span with one end in China, and the other in Vietnam.
Ban Gioc waterfall is the most majestic and beautiful waterfall in Vietnam, located in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang. Ban Gioc waterfall consists of two parts, the main part is located in the middle of the Vietnam – China border, delimited by the Quay Son river flowing below; and the rest is entirely located on Vietnamese territory. The main waterfall is about 100 meters wide, 70 meters high and 60 meters deep. From a distance, the waterfall falls to pristine white, like a white silk strip across the mountains and forests, creating a charm.
Itinerary
7:am Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel for the journey to Ba Be Lake, a drive of approximately 150 miles. Along the way you will pause to visit a Tay minority community, the second largest ethnic group in Vietnam who mostly live off the cultivation of rice.
You will continue to Ba Be National Park for a boat ride along the Nang River, with time to explore Ba Be Lake, the caves of Puong Grotto, the rapids of the Dau Dang waterfall and a tiny island. You will also visit the stilt houses of the Tay community in Bo Lu Village. Then back to your resort for check in
After breakfast, you will depart for Cao Bằng, close to Vietnam’s northern border with China. You will meet the Nung people in the village of Phuc Sen, a small village producing traditional farming tools.
You will see terraced rice fields all around, as you continue on to Ban Gioc Waterfall, the majestic falls that straddle the border between Vietnam and China. Spend some time at leisure, relaxing and taking photos as you soak up the sublime atmosphere of Vietnam’s most beautiful waterfall.
Have dinner & overnight at hotel in Ban Gioc
After a night at the hotel in Cao Bang, you will depart for your transfer south to Ha Noi. It is a journey of approximately 185 miles through many rice terraces and passing remote villages.
You will get the chance to stop at an ethnic village known for its tobacco production. This is a less traveled road in Vietnam and offers the chance to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area.
There will be a stop for lunch along the way, before eventually reaching your hotel in Ha Noi, where the tour ends.
