Itinerary
17:00: Vietnam Travel’s private driver will pick you up in Hanoi Center then transfer you to Sai Son Village where you’ll experience The Quintessence of Tonkin Show. It occupies a space close to Thay Pagoda, a special National Cultural Heritage site and one of the oldest Buddhist pagodas in Vietnam.
18:10: Enjoy dinner (at your own account) before the show at Cho Que, a nearby restaurant that serves authentic Vietnamese food. To exchange/ get foods or drinks, you’ll need to buy coupon vouchers at the ticket counter. Listen to traditional music performed by local artists or try your skills by legs with Vietnamese bamboo dance.
19:00: Enjoy 60 minutes of the show which will tell you about the culture of the Northern Vietnam. Lay your eyes upon the open-air set up of the show, reminiscent of the Red Delta River’s glory days. Take in the stunning lights and the evocative soundtrack of every scene in the show. The stage is large enough to accommodate all 250 performers at once and is submerged under 10 centimetres water. This allows for a unique theatrical displays and provides an unusual canvas for Vietnam’s more striking cultural treasures, such as water puppetry and dragon boat racing, to be creatively portrayed. The Quintessence of Tonkin performers comprise two troupes: the farmers and their families from the local village who have trained for two years, and junior and senior dance students from Vietnam Dance College. Together, the farmers and dance students bring the show to life in a compelling visual performance.
20:10: After the show you may like to take some photos with the dancers/ artists then meet your driver and travel back to Hanoi. Tour ends at your hotel by 21:30.
